The dark green section shows the existing trail. Three lime green location points identify trail entrances to Waterworks Connector at Riverside Drive/Museum Blvd, Belhaven Connector at Laurel Street, and an entrypoint at High Street. Other lines including lime green, blue, and red represent future sections that are in planning or construction phases.

Where do I start my journey?

Check out the Trail & Parking Map here to find access points and parking near:

  • LeFleur’s Bluff State Park / Museum Boulevard

  • Belhaven Neighborhood at 2240 Laurel St

  • Mississippi Farmers Market / High Street trail entrance

On-street parking is available at multiple access points along the route.

How long is the existing trail?

The current completed section of Museum Trail includes approximately 3 miles of paved multi-use trail connecting:

LeFleur’s Bluff State Park → Museum District → Belhaven Neighborhood → Mississippi Farmers Market

The trail is open daily from dawn to dusk.

What’s down the line for the trail?

Construction is currently underway on the Downtown Connector, expanding the trail beyond Belhaven and creating new connections to Downtown Jackson. Future phases will create additional connections between neighborhoods, museums, parks, restaurants, public spaces, and destinations throughout the city.

What are some safety tips?

  • Walk, run, or ride with a friend or group whenever possible

  • Join a local run club for community and extra comfort during your visit

  • Charge your phone before visiting and remain aware of your surroundings

  • If you notice suspicious activity, contact Capitol Police at (601) 359-3125
